Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza) eases lung fibrosis in rats by restoring PINK1/Parkin mitophagy in fibroblasts

Wei Zhang's team at Shuguang Hospital (Shanghai) showed danshen — Salvia miltiorrhiza, a staple of Chinese medicine — eases lung fibrosis in rats by nudging fibroblasts to run mitophagy through the PINK1/Parkin pathway. Nice to see a traditional remedy pinned to an actual quality-control switch rather than hand-waving.
